At 10:59pm on September 10, 2011, Anthony Giangualano said…: I never said I was just doing embalming. I'm doing it all. Each state has different requirements to become licensed. In some states you can do just funeral directing (making the arrangements) and some states you can do just embalming ( even if you just do embalming, facial reconstruction and cosmetics are part of that). In VA its a dual Funeral Directors and Embalmers licence, meaning you have to do both funeral directing and embalming in order to be licensed. I hope you don't have any trouble getting hired as an apprentice somewhere. Good luck! If you need help with anything, let me know. I dont know everything, but I can share what I do know.

Its my understanding that the Chester campus is the one where you take classes for mortuary science...that's where their embalming facilities are. I have been working in a funeral home for a year and a half now. I just started my apprenticeship last month and I'm loving it. Haven't started classes yet though. I'm supposed to start in the spring semester.
